This is the English digest page of the Japanese Web site "Mountain Hiking in Aomori."
The section of links is a good place to get English information.
You can get English translation if you click any of the links labeled as "English translation."
This page is formed with a set of frames. If you don't see the table of contents on the left side of the page, please click here.
The archives are written in Japanese. You can see photos with translated sentences in your language if you use any of the following free online translators.
This task consists of three steps.
A "one-click" execution method of the above task does not work well. Thus, it is recommended to use the "step-by-step" method if you want to see photos with translated sentences.

Most links in this section are written in English. This section has the following subsections.
"Minshuku" are the Japanese version of bed and breakfast (B&B) with evening meals. There exist about 20,000 minshuku all over Japan. Also, some templs and shrines provide lodging servies which are similar to "minshuku" or B&B. You can enjoy monks' meals at these temples.
Some travel planning sites put their customer target on construction workers or the like who are looking for discount hotels or inns.
In general, traveling with a Japan Rail Pass is much cheaper than traveling with cash payments. Suppose that you make the round trip with Shinkansen between Narita Airport and Aomori City in a week. It is cheaper to purchase a Japan Rail Pass of one week than the cash payment for the round trip. With this example, you can imagine how much you can save money if you use the system of Japan Rail Pass.
Suppose that we want to translate a webpage with free online translators. This task generally has three steps.
A "one-click" execution method of the above task is carried out with the following translators in order to compare their outputs. The Japanese page "Sennintai Hut" is translated to English.
Some more results are shown in the bellow.
The free software "Kashmir 3D" is a great tool for making landscape CG, amuzing 3D maps, and so on.
The software "TrekkingMapEditor" is a great tool to print maps for hiking and so on, using maps of 1:25,000 scale provided by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan. You can print high quality maps with magnetic north lines drawn by the computer.
The software was free when I wrote the original content of this section. Later on, I found that the free version of "TrekkingMapEditor" was terminated. Too bad. It is worth to buy the software if you print many maps.
It is worth to check whether the situation changed or not.
The following pages provide information about how to use "TrekkingMapEditor."
The following page is a part of my collection of Web links with regard to various subjects.
It is free to link to any of my pages, so long as my page is shown as an individual page separated from your page.
